2012 Volunteer Tax Program

Westchester County offers free tax preparation services for residents earning less than $50,000.   We will prepare and E-file your 2011, 2010 or 2009 federal and state tax returns at no charged.  Bring with you: 

  • Photo ID and social security cards for everyone to be listed on return
  • W-2 forms for each job
  • If claiming childcare expenses, documentation& provider’s tax ID
  • Any other tax-related documentation you have received (i.e. 1099)
  • Last year's tax return, if filed.

Do you qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)?  EITC is a federal tax credit available to working families and individuals who have earned income from employment, self-employment or another source and meet certain rules. Depending on your income, marital status and size of family, the tax credit for tax year 2011 will be as much as $7,764.  Children can be son, daughter, grandchild, adopted child, step child or foster child as long as the child is under 19 years of age or up to 24, if attending college.
