As the labor market continues to move into the knowledge economy, employers are recognizing workforce quality as among the important components to business success. As such, they are increasingly becoming proponents for effective workforce systems. Employers have a role to play at the state, region and local levels.
MISSION
To develop a system to provide workforce development support and services to enhance the key industries in Westchester and Putnam Counties, with a particular focus on building new workforce pipelines where skilled worker shortages exist, as well as changing how existing workers are utilized, retrained and compensated to maximize long-term productivity.
VISION
The businesses in Westchester and Putnam counties will have access to a pipeline of qualified workers they need to grow and compete in today’s global economy. Westchester and Putnam’s workers will have the information and the resources needed regarding the training and education needed to enter and advance in career track employment in the region’s key employment sectors.

Members of the Sector Partnership will learn about resources such as current labor market and workforce information, assistance with employee recruitment and training, remain updated on economic development plans, and share information about their workforce needs.
Specific services to members may include the following:
- Recruitment of skilled, diverse workers based on employer-defined standards
- Customized screening and assessmen
- Opportunities to list and post all jobs with the One Stop Employment Center
- Based on availability, funding to underwrite the cost and expand the capacity to train new and incumbent workers
- On-the-job training that is flexible to meet the needs of employees and the employer

- Networking and building of an employer community to more effectively and efficiently meet the needs of the industry
- Sharing of best practices
