Astorino Urges Veterans to Attend Town Hall Meeting Oct. 25th
County Executive Robert P. Astorino is inviting all veterans and the spouses of active duty servicemen and servicewomen to a Town Hall meeting Tuesday, Oct. 25 at the Westchester County Center in White Plains. There will be two sessions: 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Governor Cuomo Announces Streamlined Grant Application Process for Business
Governor Cuomo announced that up to $1 billion in economic development funding would be made available through a Consolidated Application Process (CFA). Beginning September 2, 2011, the NYS CFA is available to eligible applicants, marking a fundamental shift in how economic development resources are allocated.

New York State Approved to Extend Unemployment Benefits
New York State has been approved to provide up to 7 more weeks of federal Extended Benefits (EB). As a result, the total available weeks of EB has been increased from 13 to 20 weeks.

Improved One-Stop Website Connects Employers to Job Seekers
A new improved Web site to match local employers with those looking for jobs will be shown off Wednesday, at the annual meeting of the Westchester-Putnam Workforce Investment Board (WIB). The meeting will take place beginning at 4 p.m. at The Doubletree Hotel, 455 S. Broadway, Tarrytown. County Executive Robert P. Astorino will address the group, as will a representative of Putnam County Executive Robert Bondi.
