Who We Are

The Westchester-Putnam Workforce Development Board (WPWDB) brings together leaders from business, government, education, and nonprofits to strengthen workforce development across our region.

We work in partnership with the Career Center Network to:

  • Connect employers with skilled workers
  • Support job seekers through training and employment services
  • Align education and business needs
  • Build a stronger, more competitive regional economy

The board is appointed by Westchester County Executive Kenneth Jenkins and Putnam County Executive Kevin M. Byrne.

Strategic Plans

Four-Year Local Plan

The WPWDB's Four-Year Local Plan guides our workforce development strategy. It includes:

  • Assessment of economic and workforce needs
  • Key emerging industries in our region
  • Partnerships with education and training providers
  • Goals for adult and youth employment services
  • Alignment with the Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Plan

The plan is updated annually to reflect changes in labor market conditions, available funding, and local employment needs.
