Westchester County and Putnam County Executives invite businesses, community youth organizations and educational leaders from across all sectors to participate in Westchester-Putnam Workforce Development Board’s Annual General Meeting on Thursday, June 29, 2017, 8:30 - 11 am at Dunwoodie Golf Course in Yonkers, NY.
The “Bring ‘em on Board” cruise-themed event presents an opportunity to participate and learn more about the local workforce development public/private partnerships, programs and services and related activities that help to support and build a strong local economy. Upon arrival, attendees will receive a ticket which is a pass to at least three of over fifteen tables, to participate in a 10-minute presentation. This format will provide quick and informative opportunities to discuss local workforce development strategies.
A sampling of Expo programs includes YouthBuild, Volunteer Income Tax preparation Program (VITA), Jobs Waiting, Strive Forward and Workforce Development Academy for Youth (WDAY). Program Services include On-The-Job Training, READI, Just Add One, Youth Summit, Career Counseling, Work Ready Workshops, and more. Program activities include YouthSummit, Connections for Success summit and Work Readiness workshops.
It promises to be a fun and fast way to get a snapshot of a particular workforce topic and connect with the team that makes it all happen.
There is no cost to attend and breakfast will be served. Registration is closed.
