March 7, 2019 - If you’re looking to hire and train new employees or retrain existing staff, then the Westchester Business Expo (WEXPO) is the place to be on March 28 at the Hilton Westchester. The Westchester-Putnam Workforce Development Board (WPWDB) and Career Center staff will be on-site to explain how companies can find qualified employees through the Career Center Network’s on-site job fairs and online job portal, as well as access to funding for On-the-Job Training (OJT) for new workers and Customized Incumbent Worker Training (CIWT) for existing employees.
Career Center staff will be prepared with laptops to help get companies ‘on board’ and register for the various benefits provided through the Career Center Network. Staff will explain the hiring services provided and screening and training options, as well as training reimbursement specifics, and begin the registration process with the company representative right at the booth.
“Whether you are hiring a new employee or looking to retrain an existing employee, the application process is very simple. Our staff helps companies identify, screen, and hire qualified individuals, as well as arrange for on-the-job training. We also help businesses with applications for customized incumbent worker training funding. We’ll be onsite at the Expo to explain exactly how the program works and how companies can begin taking advantage of what we offer,” stated Thom Kleiner, Director of WPWDB.
WPWDB also invites businesses to join its sector partnerships in healthcare, biotech, hospitality, manufacturing, green, not-for-profit, and professional services, which provide resources to promote and maintain the economic vitality of the organizations in each sector. Companies can register for the sector partnerships at the Expo.

WEXPO is the leading business-to-business tradeshow in the Hudson Valley and will feature 180 vendors. Guest parking will be available at the Hilton Westchester and the parking garage at 800 Westchester Avenue. Red Oak Transportation will supply shuttle busses for those who park at 800 Westchester Avenue (across the street from the Hilton).
Attendees will have plenty of opportunity to network with vendors at their booths and in the welcome lounge where charging stations and refreshments will be available.
The WEXPO is hosted by the Business Council of Westchester. The BCW is committed to helping local companies build their businesses, connect with customers, business peers and thought-leaders.
