On Dec. 11, 2020 the Westchester-Putnam Career Center Network organized and hosted its first ever Virtual Disability Awareness Jeopardy Game. Its purpose was to celebrate the skills and capabilities of workers with disabilities while raising awareness of disability etiquette.
Categories and questions were carefully crafted and vetted by the NorthEast ADA Center with Michele Green, District Coordinator for Workforce, Development & Business Relations, ACCES-VR, acting as MC.
The online game was created online using a website called jeopardylabs.com and categories included:
- Rolling right along: Customers who use wheelchairs
- Read my lips: Customers with hearing loss
- Moving on: Customers with neurological disability or stroke and more
Three two-person teams participated. Contestants and coaches placed as follows:
1st place: Matthew Banks with Coach Christopher O’Brien
2nd place: Lindsey Spiegal with Coach Coach: Janet Alpert
3rd place: Larry Perez with Coach Coach: Rich Jones
We would like to thank our sponsors and prize contributors:
