Youth Employment Program, Summer Youth Employment Program

Our Youth Employment Programs offer subsidized job opportunities for young individuals ages 14 to 21 who meet eligibility requirements. The YEP program runs throughout the year, while the SYEP focuses on summer employment opportunities. Employers can hire SYEP/YEP participants for short-term jobs and internships at no cost to them, as the pre-screened candidates are paid as 1099 contract employees by Westchester County.

The goal of these programs are to equip youth with essential skills for future success in the workforce, offering hands-on experience that helps build resumes, develop professionalism, and while earning a paycheck. Youth participants also receive comprehensive training in key areas such as financial literacy, resume writing, and interview preparation—critical tools for enhancing employability.

The youth employment programs have provided job experience to hundreds of youth each year, helping to lay the foundation they need to become highly sought-after employees in a wide variety of career sectors.
