Individual Training Accounts (ITAs)

Funding for Short-Term Education & Employment Training.

What is an ITA?

An Individual Training Account (ITA) is a voucher that helps eligible job seekers pay for short-term education and skills training. With an ITA, you can attend any certificate program on our approved provider list to gain the skills you need for full-time employment at a sustainable living wage.

Who Can Apply?

You're eligible if you meet all of these requirements:

Age

You must be at least 18 years old

Job Seeker Profile

Create a job seeker profile, complete an Orientation Packet, and schedule a one-on-one meeting with an Employment Counselor

Income

Provide documentation of your entire household's income to verify economic eligibility. Income is evaluated on a sliding scale based on household size and must fall below the maximum threshold.

Training fit

Meet the education and work experience requirements for your chosen training program in a designated high-demand field

Training selection

Choose a training from our Approved Eligible Training Provider List (provided by your Employment Counselor)

Job readiness

Be prepared to work immediately after completing training and report your job placement information

Commitment

Attend classes regularly, stay accountable, and communicate with your Employment Counselor throughout the process

How to Get Started

Timeline: The process length depends on when you submit your eligibility documents and when your desired courses begin. A Career Center staff member will guide you through every step.

Step 1: Meet with an Employment Counselor

  • Complete required forms and screening questions
  • Discuss your training goals and options

Step 2: Gather income verification documents

  • Prepare proof of household income
  • Submit documentation to your counselor

Step 3: Complete the online ITA application

  • Fill out the application with your counselor's support
  • Review your eligibility status

Step 4: Get approved and enroll

  • Receive approval confirmation
  • Enroll in your chosen training program when it becomes available
