Free & Low-Cost Training Opportunities

599 Program (Unemployment Insurance)

If you are collecting UI benefits, you may be able to attend full-time training without looking for work.

Individual Training Accounts (ITAs)

Eligible job seekers can receive up to $5,000 in tuition vouchers for training in high-demand occupations. Schedule a counseling appointment to determine eligibility.

On-the-Job Training

We offer incentives to employers to hire you! Employers can be reimbursed up to 50% of your wages during your training period. Ask a counselor for an On-the-Job Training (OJT) eligibility letter to show employers.

Career Pathways

Commit to a path that leads to a credential, license, or degree in industries like Healthcare, IT, and Advanced Manufacturing.

Paid Apprenticeships

Learn a skilled occupation through paid on-the-job training and classroom work. For more information you may contact our regional representative Jiwanda Gale-Rogers at 914-997-1445.

Computer Literacy

Brush up on your tech skills with Northstar Digital Literacy Assessments. Earn certificates in software skills and technology for daily life.

Community & Business Resources

NYSDOL Virtual Career Center

Create a NYSDOL account to manage your entire job search from one dashboard. Take advantage of AI-driven job recommendations, resume builders, cover letter management, and professional development training.

Tax Assistance

Free tax prep for low-income families via the VITA program. Helps people owe less tax and get cash back from the IRS through the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Program.

Getting covered doesn't have to be complicated. Meet with an on-site healthcare facilitator to get your questions answered and find low-cost, quality insurance plans. Check you eligibility at NYStateofhealth.ny.gov or call (800) 662-1220.

Youth & Young Adults

People with Disabilities

ACCES-VR

We assist individuals with disabilities in achieving and maintaining employment through Vocational Rehabilitation. A referral is required to be made by your employment counselor.
