June 7, 2018 -- Westchester County Executive George Latimer and Putnam County Executive MaryEllen Odell invite businesses, community youth organizations, civic and educational leaders from across all sectors, to participate in Westchester-Putnam Workforce Development Board’s Annual Meeting on Tuesday, June 26 from 8:30 to10:30 a.m. at Putnam National Golf Course in Mahopac, NY.
This year’s meeting theme “Full Steam Ahead,” communicates the Board’s ongoing mission to move forward with ambitious industry sector partnerships, programs and services and events to build a robust workforce to attract and retain businesses. This year’s program features keynote speaker Anthony Viceroy, Chief Executive Officer of Westmed Medical Group. Viceroy oversees the strategic development of Westmed, which has consistently grown 20 percent each year, resulting in a current medical and administrative team of more than 500 physicians, advanced care practitioners and more than 1,300 employees. Focused on service excellence, Viceroy works diligently to inspire a corporate culture of employee engagement at Westmed that reflects its core values – trust, respect, compassion and integrity – throughout the entire patient experience.
“The annual meeting is designed to be informative while being interactive, because we hope people will take the time to learn about all that we do. We believe that workforce development and economic development go hand in hand, and we’re developing strategies to coordinate with the countys’ business attraction efforts. Our goal is to create a pipeline of talent and offer the appropriate training, that will save employers time and money in the recruitment and training process,” states Executive Director Thom Kleiner.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer said: “We hope that today’s event gets people involved, and eager to learn about the programs, services and activities the Westchester-Putnam Workforce Development Board has to offer. When you bring together influential members of the business community, along with civic and educational leaders, you ultimately build a stronger workforce and local economy.”
Putnam County Executive MaryEllen Odell said: “Bringing the business community together with our community youth organizations along with our civic and educational leaders to Putnam County for the Workforce Development Board’s Annual Meeting connects our job creators with our future workforce and enables us to discuss the job skills needed to ensure the regions continued economic growth for years to come.”
There is no cost to attend and breakfast will be served. For registration and further information about Westchester-Putnam’s Workforce Development Board Annual Meeting, go to 2018 Annual Meeting: Full Steam Ahead.
